Île-au-Canot, property of the Welch family since 1989, had been for sale for years, at a going price of 3.5 million dollars. It is now the property of a group of businessmen, avid hunters and nature lovers, who are devoted to the island. These men, Georges Welch, Michel Saucier as well as Pierre-Yves Courgeon, strongly believe in the touristic potential of the island.
In concrete terms, this means that Croisières Lachance has been mandated to develop the island and bring to light its heritage. For Mr. Lachance, it goes without saying that returning to the island of his forefathers is a sentimental experience. In addition, Île-au-Canot is one of the few islands accessible at all times in spite of the tides. Its location is also ideal for hunting aquatic birds and discovering the fauna and flora visible along its paths. The acquisition of the island will allow access to tourists, who will be able to become acquainted with a new facet of the Ile-aux-Grues Archipelago and the beautiful South Shore region.
Like nowhere else Starting this summer, Croisières Lachance will be offering various plans to visit this island domain. Thusly, visitors may become islanders for a moment in time, as the domain may be rented for hunting and vacationing. Featuring a residence, which can accommodate up to 10 persons, it is the perfect setting for memorable times with friends or family in the great, wide open.
Furthermore, with their newly acquired Zodiac, Croisières Lachance will be offering Archipelago excursions with stopover at Île-au-Canot.
Already, major developments are foreseen for the coming months. We will keep you posted. To be continued...
